Hi! And welcome to Hauskuchen 🙂

My name is Gemma and I am the baker and designer at our little bakery.

For as long as I can remember, I have loved being in the kitchen. My Mother and Grandmother were the ones who taught me how to bake and these times created some of my happiest childhood moments. One of my earliest memories is from baking with my Grandma – because she always had this homemade pink sugar. I was so fascinated by this pink sparkle that often ended up decorating our cookies and cupcakes.

When we welcomed our little princess into the world, I knew that when the time came, I wanted to be able to give my daughter the best 1st birthday cake that I could put together.

This was the bake that fuelled and inspired Hauskuchen.

Hauskuchen is here to give that baking nostalgia a new shine, combing classics with modern twists.
